Third Eye Forest
Tillandsia Streptophylla
Tillandsia Streptophylla
Family: Bromeliaceae
Genus: Tillandsia
Origin: Native to Central America, Mexico, and the West Indies
Form/Color: These plants can grow somewhat large and form beautiful clumps very alien looking. They are incredibly curly and soft in more arid environments. With heavier watering they will open up their leaves more.
Water Requirements: Daily misting outdoors is optimal, they can handle dryer conditions but will burn in direct sun in hotter western zones like mine. If growing indoors I keep them on the dryer side with weekly misting or water baths. Do not water when the sun is hot on them or leave them sitting in water for too long.
Mounting: Great for hanging baskets , driftwood, tree and rock mounting. They will root into and wrap around many objects with their tentacle-like arms.
Growing Tips:
Best suited for soft to medium natural light and shaded areas.
