Balboa Short Spine Peru

A very rare and stand out botanical garden specimen from the Balboa Botanical Garden in San Diego California. The original mother stand was poached to extinction, however has survived through various palpations within the cactus community via volunteers who mamaged to get cuttings before the plants died. These are very old, wild collected specimens likely from Kate Sessions as they were planted in her cacti garden. There were several Peruvianus clones, this being the short spined, possible Pachanoi hybrid.
